Tribute To Paris Jackson

Dear Paris,

Happy Birthday! You are officially 18!

I can’t begin to know what life must be like for you as the daughter of Michael Jackson, but I know what it’s like to lose a father as a child and in a tragic manner. Paris, my dear, I have felt your pain and to have to deal with it so publicly must be equally hard. With that knowledge, I’ve tried to put myself in your place. I know that your father loved you dearly and did his best to protect you.

As he once said, “I wasn’t aware that the world thought I was so weird and bizarre.  But when you grow up, like I did, in front of 100 million people since the age of 5, you’re automatically different.” I’m sure by now that you understand what he meant better than most.

I pray much for your strength and endurance. Continue to be of good courage. When people try to put you down, remember these words:

“Who are you to judge the life I live?
I know I’m not perfect and I don’t live to be
But before you start pointing fingers…
Make sure your hands are clean!”
― Bob Marley

“Paris can stand [on] her own sometimes…. She won’t take anything from anybody. She fights. She’s tough, very tough. It’s true, man.” ~ Michael Jackson

Living Life In a Fish Bowl – Written by All Things Michael

Privacy has never been a luxury

But when I was little, I didn’t have to worry

I was protected from the world

Then I lost my first and true love

No more living behind the veil

Now there is no place I can hide

Everyone is watching, anxious to see

What I’ll become and who I will be

I’m just a person trying to live my life

Searching for my freedom where ever I find it

I gotta do what’s best for me

If roles were reversed, you would know how I feel…

I’ve got followers on my pages, telling me what to do

The media’s all in my face, trying to predict my doom

Trolls and bullies mock me, hating without a cause

But no one knows the intentions of my heart

My destiny is between me and God

As a wise man once wrote,

“I’m gonna keep searching for my star until I find it.

It’s hidden in the drawer of innocence, wrapped in a scarf of wonder” *

That same man taught me how to dream

And to become whatever I want to be

I will make some mistakes

But have mercy, I’m human!

My wounded heart is still healing

I don’t ask for your pity

But I don’t need your wrath

Living life in a fishbowl isn’t easy

Everything that you do is up for scrutiny

People judge without knowing you

Who can live with that kind of pressure?

No mortal should have to

So please don’t try to label or define me

‘Cause this story ain’t over yet!

“When I look into the eyes of my son, Prince, and daughter, Paris, I see miracles and I see beauty” ~ Michael Jackson
