Paul McCartney To Re-Issue Michael Jackson Duet And More On Upcoming Album

Paul McCartney will issue a collection of his sprawling and extensive solo career, which includes his work with Wings and Fireman, called Pure McCartney. The album is set for release on June 10th.

The collection will be available in three different formats:  the four-CD set has 67 songs, the two-CD collection will feature 49 tracks, the vinyl LP hosts 46 tunes. The collection will cover his musical career from his 1970 solo debut through last year’s remix of “Say Say Say,” with Michael Jackson.

McCartney also included several curios for die-hard fans alongside his own personal favorite songs.

“Me and my team came up with the idea of putting together a collection of my recordings with nothing else in mind other than having something fun to listen to,” Paul says of this project.

“Maybe it’s to be enjoyed on a long car journey or an evening at home or at a party with friends? So we got our heads together and came up with these diverse playlists from various periods of my long and winding career.”

McCartney will also kick off his “One on One” tour this month with a few dates in North America followed by a short run overseas.

    • Paul is releasing the songs from his albums only. Say Say Say was released on Paul’s original album Pipes of Peace. It’s his song and Michael just collaborated on it. TGIM is Michael’s song on Thriller and Paul doesn’t have any rights to it. They were supporting each other’s album like Michael and Stevie did later on with their albums Characters and Bad.
