“Who’s Bad,” a Michael Jackson tribute band, performs in Big Bear Lake Saturday, June 27, at The Cave. Tickets range from $21 to $36 with $5 from each ticket going to Big Bear Lake’s Special Olympics World Games Host Town Program.
The longest-running Michael Jackson tribute band has been touring nationally and internationally for more than 10 years sharing stages with Aretha Franklin, The Backstreet Boys, The Four Tops, Boys II Men, and hip hop superstar Pitbull among others.
As a Host Town for the World Games Big Bear Lake will play host to three delegations, which include Special Olympics athletes and coaches from Chile, Luxembourg and Montenegro.
The delegations will spend July 21-24 in and around Big Bear Lake as they become acclimated to the time zone, enjoy activities that Big Bear Lake has to offer and prepare to compete.
The community is invited to meet the athletes and participate with them in the evening events during their stay, which includes an outdoor World Games Fiesta de Big Bear at Sonora Cantina July 22 and a World Games Big Bear Dance Party July 23 at the Bear Cave Entertainment Center at Bear Creek Resort. Plans are also in the works for a procession through town on July 24 as the athletes depart for the Games.
