SIX years on since the passing of the King of Pop, Malaysian fans of Michael Jackson finally have a rare opportunity to relive the glory days of the visionary musician from tomorrow (March 19) until March 25 through a musical performance set to be held in Kuala Lumpur.
Created by Michael’s good friend Adrian Grant, Thriller Live is a musical performance celebrating 49-years of the King of Pop where the award winning West End London production will set the stage at the Bukit Jalil Putra Indoor Stadium ablaze.
“The musical showcases the hope and spirit of Michael. We don’t want the show to be a tribute to him as we don’t want the show to be perceived that way. We want him to be remembered by the action, words and dances he created through the highly talented cast,” Thriller Live Tour Manager Phil Watts said to reporters at a special press conference held at the Palace of the Golden Horses here today.
Phil said the show and its cast who are just back from touring Australia are excited to remind Malaysian fans of Michael and how the legendary musician created his music and how his life should be celebrated.
“We’re reminding people what he did and how he did it. It is going to be an intense experience.” Phil promised.
The vibrant and high energy musical, which is in its record breaking seventh year in the West End London, is set to overtake Oliver! and Grease, making it the 19th longest running musical in the history of London’s famed theatre.
Presented by Milestone Production, the highly energetic performance showcases renowned performers such as MIG Ayesa, Prinnie Stevens, Sean Christopher, Alex Buchanan and J. Rome who would exude Michael’s persona in their own creative ways.
