In 2011, Michael Jackson was the top touring act in America. Were it a previous decade, this wouldn’t be a shock—but, as we all know, Jackson died two years before that.

So how did this seemingly miraculous feat happen? Cirque du Soleil collaborated with the Jackson estate and director Jamie King (not that Jaime King; this one has directed tours for Rihanna) to produce The Immortal World Tour, a Las Vegas show that Jay Z, Beyonce, and Cee-Lo Green attended. Like Cirque du Soleil did with their show The Beatles: LOVE, this Jackson-themed spectacular sees acrobats and dancers performing their interpretations of his best songs.

The entire Cirque du Soleil show, from inception to performance, was captured in a new documentary, Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour. Watch the trailer below:
