Dru Hill lead singer Sisqó, releases his first new album in over a decade entitled,  “Last Dragon,” this week.  He uncovers his favorite memories from the insanity that was his life in the late ’90s and early 2000s after his smash-hit single, “Thong Song.”

“In 2001, Michael Jackson flew me out to meet him. That blew my mind. He was working with Teddy Riley at the time; I was working with Teddy at the time also. So he wanted to meet me. From the moment I saw Michael Jackson at Motown 25, I knew that’s what I wanted to do. When I met him I was like, “Dude, you are the reason why me and a lot of other artists are doing this.” Especially when it comes to urban artists, pretty much everybody came to this world because of Michael Jackson. I was like, “What made you want to meet me?” He was like, “I think you’re really talented and will go far.” After that, that was one of those bucket-list moments. I was like, “Dude, I’m good. I don’t have to even sell another record after that. I met the guy who inspired me to want to do this, and he said I was dope.”

  1. Michael changed so many lives. He had an almost god-like quality about him that touched people in deep and powerful ways. I still miss him every day…
