Flashback Friday: Michael Jackson Tops The Charts With ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ Today In 1988

Today in 1988, Michael Jackson went to No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘The Way You Make Me Feel.’

This was the third of five U.S. #1 hits from 1987’s ‘Bad’ album.

Jackson produced the songs on the Bad album with Quincy Jones, who produced his Thriller album. Jones has mentioned this song as one of his favorite orchestrations on the album; he added lots of little rhythms and sounds to the track to give it texture.

After Jackson’s death in June 2009, John Legend and a visibly emotional Stevie Wonder did a cover of the song as a tribute to Jackson at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary Concert held at Madison Square Garden.
