Police say someone stole a pair of autographed shoes once owned by the late Michael Jackson during an auction at the Lowes Hotel.

Police are searching for the thief who stole a pair of autographed shoes once owned by the late Michael Jackson from the Lowes Hotel in Center City.

Investigators say someone took the shoes and the certificate of authenticity from the Hair O’ The Dog auction on the second floor sometime before 2 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators tell NBC10 hotel security was handling another incident at the other end of the hallway and when they returned the shoes were missing.

There were about 2,000 people at the auction, according to police.

No word yet which pair of shoes were stolen or how much they are worth.
